Step by Step (by Editor)

 

In a Nutshell

  • Load an image  by selecting the "Load Picture" option in the "File" menu. 

  • Move the yellow box atop the image until your starting position is set up.

  • Click on the Timeline to the place in time you want the move to end on.

  • Move the yellow box atop the image until your ending position is set up.

  • Play your move.

For each Editor 

 

Using  MovingPicture in Avid:

        Install:
  1. Close Avid editor, if open.
  2. For Windows: Drag the MovingPicture.avx file into the AVX_Plug-Ins  folder.
  3. For Mac: Drag the MovingPicture file into the AVX_Plug-Ins  folder.
  4. Restart Avid editor.

        Use:

  1. Drag a clip to the timeline. This should be video clip or a video-size still. Placing the hi-res still will slow rendering and may cause other problems.
  2. Make the clip's length the time you want the move to occur in.
  3. Open up the "Effects Palette" from Avid's "Tools" menu.
  4. Drag the MovingPicture effect over the clip.
  5. Click on the setup effect button under the source/master screens.
  6. The "Effect Editor" palette will open and MovingPicture icon will appear in the top line.
  7. Click (or double click) on the MovingPicture icon on the left side.
  8. The MovingPicture user interface will come up on one of the screens.
  9. Load a picture using the "Load Picture" option in the "Files" menu.
  10. Move the yellow camera until the starting position is reached.
  11. Click on the timeline to set the time for the position you want to go to next.
  12. Move the yellow camera until the next position is reached.
  13. Play the move using the controls on the Viewer.
  14. Click on the round "OK" button.
  15. Render the effect.

Using  MovingPicture in Final Cut Pro:

        Install:
  1. Close Final Cut Pro, if open.
  2. Drag the MovingPicture file into the Plugins  folder for OS-9 based systems.
  3. Or - Drag the  MovingPicture file into the Library\Application Support\Final Cut Pro System Support\Plugins folder for OS-X based systems.
  4. Restart Final Cut Pro.
        Use:
  1. Drag a clip to the timeline. This should be video clip or a video-size still. Placing the hi-res still will slow rendering and may cause other problems.
  2. Make the clip's length the time you want the move to occur in.
  3. Add effect from the Effects menu at the top of the screen, under Video Filters ->  StageTools -> MovingPicture. 
  4. Double click on the clip to place it in viewer.
  5. Click on the Filters tab in the viewer.
  6. Click on the "Options" button to launch MovingPicture.
  7. Load a picture using the "Load Picture" option in the "Files" menu.
  8. Move the yellow camera until the starting position is reached.
  9. Click on the timeline to set the time for the position you want to go to next.
  10. Move the yellow camera until the next position is reached.
  11. Play the move using the controls on the Viewer.
  12. Click on the round "OK" button.
  13. Render the effect.

Using  MovingPicture in  edit, Media 100 and Canopus:

   Install:

  1. Close editor, if open.
  2. For Media 100, drag the MovingPicture file into the DVEs folder within the Transitions folder.
  3. For edit, drag the FX-MovPix.prm file into the discreet\edit\plugins  folder.
  4. For Canopus, drag the MovingPicture.dll file into the  ..\Effects   folder.
  5. Restart editor.
        Use:
  1. Create a placeholder clip and separate it into two parts.
  2. Make the duration the time you want the move to occur in.
  3. Add a transition between the clip and select the MovingPicture option from the Transitions pull down menu.
  4. Click on the Configure button and the MovingPicture screen will appear.
  5. Load an image  to animate using the 'Load Picture' menu option.
  6. Position the starting key frame by dragging the yellow box around.
  7. Click on the timeline to set when you want the next keyframe to occur.
  8. Position the key frame by dragging the yellow box around.
  9. Add as many KeyFrames as you would like.
  10. Preview the move by setting the timeline to the start are clicking on the Viewer's play button (or hit '0' or 'P' or Space)
  11. Exit the plug-in via the Windows close box or the OK button.

 

Using  MovingPicture in Premiere and other NLE's:

   Installation:

  1. Close the editor, if open.
  2. For Premiere, drag MovPix.prm file into the Plug-Ins  folder.
  3. For Edition / Liquid, drag MovPix.prm file into the ..\plugins\filter folder.
  4. For Incite, drag the MovPix.prm file into the  ...\Plugins  folder.
  5. For dpsVelocity, drag the MovPix.prm file into the Plugins  folder.
  6. For Speed Razor, drag the MovingPicture.vfx file into the ..\Effects
  7. Restart editor.
        Use:
  1. Drag a clip to the timeline. This should be video clip or a video-size still. Placing the hi-res still will slow rendering and may cause other problems.
  2. Make the clip's length the time you want the move to occur in.
  3. Pull up the Video Filter list, and add the 'MovingPicture' filter to the clip.
  4. Load an image to animate using the 'Load Picture' menu option.
  5. Position the starting key frame by dragging the yellow box around.
  6. Click on the timeline to set when you want the next KeyFrame to occur.
  7. Position the key frame by dragging the yellow box around.
  8. Add as many KeyFrames as you would like.
  9. Preview the move by setting the timeline to the start are clicking on the Viewer's play button (or hit '0', 'P, or Space)
  10. Exit the plug-in via the Windows close box or the OK button.
  11. Preview your move.
